Job summary

MAG East Midlands Airport is seeking a Head of Cargo Development to lead the next phase of its cargo growth strategy, shaping import/export demand and building partnerships across the cargo community. You will influence senior stakeholders across logistics, e-commerce, manufacturing and freight forwarding, translating market insight into executable opportunities, both in the UK and internationally.

Qualifications

• Significant commercial experience within air-cargo logistics, supply chain, international trade or a related B2B environment.
• Proven track record of developing and delivering growth strategies that convert market opportunities into measurable commercial outcomes.
• Strong knowledge of cargo supply chains and factors that influence freight-routing decisions.
• Leadership ability to align diverse cargo stakeholders and influence senior partners.
• Strong commercial and analytical judgement using cargo-flow analysis and market forecasting.
• Excellent business development, negotiation and relationship-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Developing and delivering a clear cargo growth strategy focused on increasing sustainable import and export demand.
• Building strategic relationships with e-commerce businesses, manufacturers, shippers, freight forwarders and trade bodies.
• Leading and coordinating the East Midlands cargo community to strengthen collaboration and competitiveness.
• Translating identified cargo demand into airline opportunities and supporting capacity development.
• Identifying infrastructure and operational opportunities to support cargo growth with cross-functional teams.
• Attracting and retaining logistics businesses to generate cargo demand and long-term revenue growth.
• Promoting MAG and East Midlands Airport as a leading international cargo hub to government and industry partners.
