A leading school in Consett is seeking a dedicated caretaker to maintain and care for its premises. The role involves ensuring safety and cleanliness, working closely with staff to support the school community. Ideal candidates will have caretaking experience and strong communication skills. The Governors of Leadgate Primary School are seeking to appoint a caretaker to join our wonderful school community. This vacancy has arisen due to the retirement of our dedicated caretaker. We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic and a commitment to teamwork, who will take pride in caring for our school building and premises.
The successful candidate will be part of a committed school team, ensuring the premises remain safe and well-maintained for pupils and staff. They should meet the essential criteria outlined in the person specification, with desirable skills as a bonus.
The current working hours are 32 per week, Monday to Friday, from 6:00-9:15 am and 3:00-5:45 pm, with an additional 2 hours to be distributed across the week for completing outstanding tasks. Annual leave is to be taken during school closure periods.
Applications are welcomed from individuals with caretaking experience, similar work experience, or transferable skills. Good spoken English and the ability to communicate effectively with customers are essential.
