Job description

Abbeywood Community School is seeking a dedicated and adaptable Caretaker to join our dynamic team. This full-time position involves working 37 hours per week, on weekdays. The scheduled shifts are four days a week from 10:00 to 18:00, and one day from 10:00 to 17:30.

The Caretaker will assist the Lead Caretaker and Facilities Manager in ensuring the safe and efficient management of all aspects of daily facilities operations. Responsibilities include site maintenance, non-structural repairs, heating, ventilation, safety, security, and maintaining cleanliness across the premises.

The ideal candidate will be professional, self-motivated, capable of working independently, and proactive. They should thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess practical skills for site maintenance and improvements. Physical fitness is essential due to the physically demanding nature of the role.

The successful candidate will have excellent organisational and time management skills, approach tasks logically and resourcefully, and communicate confidently. Building and maintaining professional relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders is key, alongside a positive attitude and a commitment to outstanding customer service.
