£25,183 per annum

37 Hours per week

Required for 7th July 2025

Following the retirement of our long-serving caretaker, we are seeking a replacement.

The successful candidate will be responsible to the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team for providing an efficient and effective caretaking service. They will work in partnership with the school team to:

  1. Manage the general upkeep of the school building, undertaking minor repairs, redecoration, and maintenance.
  2. Be responsible for opening and closing the school site, conducting regular security checks, and being the first key holder for out-of-hours emergencies.
  3. Oversee the operation of lighting, water, heating, fire, and alarm systems, advising on energy control and conservation.
  4. Assist in managing and operating school lettings.
  5. Participate in safety audits and ensure compliance with Health and Safety guidelines.
  6. Show initiative, commitment, and a willingness to develop in the role.
  7. Contribute actively to the ethos and aims of the school.
  8. Support school activities and traffic management initiatives.
  9. Help maintain and develop the school grounds.
  10. Manage a team of cleaners and perform daily cleaning of designated areas.
  11. A full driving license and own transport are preferred but not essential.

    Working hours:

  • 6:30 am – 10:30 am
  • 2:30 pm – 6:00 pm (5:30 pm on Fridays)

Holidays cannot be taken during school term time.
