Pinnacle Group is seeking an experienced Caretaker to maintain our buildings and facilities, ensuring they are well-maintained, secure, functional, and compliant with Health & Safety standards.

You will be part of our Facilities Management team based at schools in Exeter. Your responsibilities will include routine maintenance, managing repairs, enforcing security protocols, and keeping premises clean and orderly. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and possesses excellent problem-solving skills. The working hours are 8 hours between 06:00 and 18:00. This is a temporary position with the potential to become permanent.

Key responsibilities:

• Ensure the security of school buildings and grounds through locking/unlocking, patrols, and monitoring.
• Perform Planned Preventative Maintenance as per each school's schedule and your skills.
• Provide access, escort, and liaise with service providers for remedial or maintenance work.
• Carry out minor repairs and decoration tasks.
• Respond to emergencies such as floods or bodily fluids, implementing rectification procedures promptly.
• Check BMS, boilers, hot water systems, pest inspections, drains, and plant rooms.
• Perform daily duties such as litter picking, bin emptying, sweeping, and restroom refreshing.

Key Requirements

• General handyman skills, including DIY, minor plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work.
• A friendly and approachable personality.
• Ability to liaise with external service providers.
• Ability to work effectively in a team.
