School Caretaker

Start Date - ASAP

Full-Time 37 Hours Per Week

Grade 2 SCP 6 £25,183 per annum

Following the retirement of our school caretaker, we are now looking for a replacement. Being a caretaker is a very important role. You are often the first person visitors and contractors meet. You often meet and greet our families on arrival.

We are looking for a caretaker who:

  • Is respectful, polite, and welcoming to all
  • Is reliable, honest, and committed to the school
  • Has a good sense of humor
  • Has clear communication with pupils, parents, visitors, and staff
  • Demonstrates flexibility (from time to time there may be a need to open school late or on weekends. This would be agreed in advance)
  • Has experience with Health & Safety related matters (desirable)

What will be your duties:

  • Routine maintenance of the school building indoors (this can include minor repairs)
  • Routine maintenance of school grounds outdoors (this can include minor repairs)
  • Recycling
  • Reporting of repairs / major works
  • Assistance with Health & Safety (Please see job description for list)
  • Daily cleaning of agreed areas

What will your hours be:

  • 6.00am – 10.00 am and 2.30pm – 6.00 pm Monday - Thursday
  • 6.00am – 10.00 am and 2.30pm - 5.30pm on a Friday
  • Hours may vary during Winter periods
  • Holidays cannot be taken during school term time
  • Hours may vary due to school events e.g., Parental consultations & Governor meetings (This would be communicated well in advance)
