Job summary

Helping Hands is seeking a dedicated Care and Training Practitioner in Stalybridge to mentor new carers from interview through onboarding, ensuring quality, compliance and meaningful customer relationships.

You will coach the team, support branch operations, and help maintain exceptional care across visits and documentation. This role blends hands-on care coaching with leadership within a nationwide care provider.

Qualifications

• Full, clean UK driving licence and access to a roadworthy vehicle.
• Strong communication skills with a supportive, encouraging approach.
• People-first mindset; calm, kind, and ready to lead by example.
• Keen eye for detail and confidence in maintaining compliance and quality standards.
• Experience as a Care Assistant and desire to progress in your career.

Responsibilities

• Train, mentor and support new carers so they feel confident and ready to deliver extraordinary care.
• Assist the branch team with compliance, auditing and documentation.
• Complete spot checks and supervisions to maintain high standards across the care team.
• Visit customers to review care plans, ensuring they remain accurate and person-centred.
• Carry out risk assessments with care, clarity and professionalism.
• Support on-call duties in line with the branch rota.
