Job summary

Bluebird Care is seeking an experienced Care Trainer to develop the care team through induction, shadowing and ongoing professional development. You will support new recruits through induction, shadowing, competency assessment and probation while building confidence and capability across frontline staff.

You’ll deliver induction training, workshops, eLearning and practical assessments, then provide actionable feedback to help staff improve.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience delivering face-to-face, classroom-based training.
• Minimum 3 years' experience delivering care in a health or social care setting.
• A recognised Train the Trainer qualification – essential.
• Confident delivering and assessing practical competencies in the field.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload.
• Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to respond to different learning needs.
• Experience in PBS or behavioural support is desirable.
• Experience in complex care is desirable.
• Willing to participate in the on-call rota and provide emergency care cover when required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and coordinate induction training, workshops, eLearning, practical competencies, refresher training and ad-hoc training based on individual and team development needs.
• Assess practical competencies within the field, provide constructive feedback and identify opportunities for further development.
• Work closely with Supervisors to support observations and coaching, ensuring training and development needs are identified and followed up.
• Maintain accurate training records, monitor training compliance and collaborate with the wider team to respond to ongoing learning needs.
• Participate in the on-call rota and provide emergency care cover when required.
