Job summary

Bluebird Care Durham North is seeking an experienced Care Trainer to develop our care team. You'll lead induction programs, shadow new recruits and drive probationary development to ensure safe, high-quality care.

You will deliver classroom-based training, coordinate workshops, assess practical competencies, and maintain training records. A PBS or behavioural support background is desirable and you must be willing to join the on-call rota when required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience delivering face-to-face, classroom-based training.
• Minimum 3 years' experience delivering care in health or social care.
• Recognised Train the Trainer qualification – essential.
• Confident delivering and assessing practical competencies in the field.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage your own workload.
• Flexible and adaptable to different learning needs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and coordinate induction training, workshops, eLearning and practical competencies.
• Assess practical competencies within the field and provide constructive feedback.
• Identify opportunities for further development and track progress.
• Work with Supervisors to support observations and coaching within timescales.
• Maintain accurate training records and monitor training compliance.
• Participate in the on-call rota and provide emergency care cover when required.
