Job summary

Porthaven Care Homes in Leatherhead is seeking an experienced Senior Care Assistant to lead a team during night shifts. You will deliver person-centred care to residents, maintain dignity, and support families and professionals as needed.

Leading Carers and Senior Carers, you will ensure accurate care plans, administer medications, and keep daily records up to date. DBS checks and UK work eligibility are required. Sponsorship or relocation packages are not available.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
• Experience in a care home, ideally in a Senior Carer role.
• Ability to administer medication in a care home setting.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

• You have previous experience in a care home environment, ideally in a Senior Carer role.

• You understand care planning and are comfortable updating or creating care plans.
• You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• You have strong leadership skills and can motivate and support those around you.
• Most importantly, you have a natural desire to help others and thrive within a team of Senior Carers and Care Team Leaders, all committed to providing the highest standard of care for our residents.

About the role:

Leading a team of Carers and Senior Carers, you will deliver person-centred care to our residents to ensure they retain their dignity and individuality. By leading a happy and competent team, you can really make a difference in your home and also the local community. Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and inspiring a team of Carers and Senior Carers in the day to day running of the home.
• Communicating regularly with our residents' families and Health care professionals to write and adapt care plans.
• Administering medication and completing risk assessments
• Ensuring the needs of the residents are always met.
• Ensuring residents daily records are up to date and accurately reflect the care provided.

The successful candidate will be subject to the provision of satisfactory references and a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, and they must be authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
