Job summary

Southern Housing is seeking caring individuals to join Green Meadows as Care & Support Workers. The role is 35 hours per week across supported housing schemes and in the community, supporting residents with personalised, high‑quality care and promoting independence, dignity and inclusion.

Flexibility is essential; the role may include evenings, weekends, sleep‑in duties and on‑call rotas. DBS checks and ongoing training are provided.

Qualifications

• A caring and empathetic approach with ability to build trust.
• Deliver care in line with individual care plans to promote independence.
• Understand safeguarding responsibilities and report concerns.
• Remain calm and professional in emergencies.
• Commitment to equality, dignity and anti‑discriminatory practice.
• Physical ability for moving and handling tasks.
• Basic IT skills to maintain accurate records and reports.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, sleep in duties and on call rotas.
• Strong communication and teamwork.
• Minimum of 5 GCSEs including Maths and English.
• Willingness to work towards NVQ Level 2 in Care.
• No previous experience required – full training and support provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and support across housing schemes, extra care services and in the community.
• Help residents live independently while promoting dignity, choice and inclusion.
• Work evenings and weekends as required and participate in on‑call rotations.
• Maintain accurate records and reports; respond calmly in emergencies.
