Job summary

Camphill Village Trust in the United Kingdom is seeking a hands-on service leader to supervise staff and support adults with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs. You will ensure safety, development and happiness, and you will drive monthly team meetings, supervision, and regular competency checks.

This role requires Level 3 NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care, staff-management experience, and the ability to work autonomously while modelling professional values and positive

Qualifications

  • Hold a minimum Level 3 NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care.
  • Experience leading a staff team in health and social care.
  • Experience with learning disability and/or autism desirable.
  • Driving licence useful for accessing community.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, direct and guide the staff team to enable the people we support to have the best quality of life possible.
  • Ensure health, safety, development and happiness of the people we support is paramount at all times.
  • Hold monthly team meetings, quarterly supervisions, twice yearly medication competencies and observations of practice along with a yearly annual review.
  • Complete the induction of new staff within the service and support them through their probationary period.
  • Undertake any other duties which are consistent with this post, as directed by line management.
  • Be able to work with a degree of autonomy in managing the service.
  • Be a positive role model to the support workers and others employed by the Trust.
  • Have professional values that lead on how to promote a capable environment and work using a positive behaviour support approach.
  • Have a positive attitude and enthusiasm for the job we do.
  • Respect the community and the people who live and work here.

Job description

Responsibilities

  • Ensure there are monthly team meetings, quarterly supervisions, twice yearly medication competencies and observations of practice along with a yearly annual review.
  • Complete the induction of new staff within the service and support them through their probationary period.
  • Undertake any other duties which are consistent with this post, as directed by line management.
  • You will hold a minimum of Level 3 NVQ/ QCF (or equivalent) in Health and Social Care, and will have worked in a health and social care setting for a minimum of two years, preferably with people who have a learning disability and/ or autism, and has experience of managing a staff team. A driving licence would be useful as the community can be difficult to access by public transport. Be highly organised and trustworthy.
  • Be able to work with a degree of autonomy in managing the service.
  • Be a positive role model to the support workers and others employed by the Trust.
  • Have professional values that lead on how to promote a capable environment and work using a positive behaviour support approach.

Compensation & Working Conditions

£13.20 - £15.05 per hour dependent on skills & experience. Full-time or part-time (1 position of 30 hours, 1 position of 37.5 hours). Permanent or contract (Permanent). Charity Support.

Actively Interviewing, Hours: 2 roles available, 1 x 30 hours per week and 1 x 37.5 hours per week, generally Mon - Fri days, but we are flexible. Salary: £25,740 - £29,367 FTE, dependent on skills and experience pro rata for part-time.
