Job summary

Co-op is seeking a Care Logistics Lead on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract in Earlsfield, SW17. The role drives the schedule and delivery of ceremonial crews for funerals, ensuring the deceased are cared for with dignity and compliance, while coordinating with other funeral care teams.

The position demands a compassionate approach, ability to work at pace, and a full UK driving license. 37.5 hours weekly, Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm, with a supportive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team in a fast-paced environment (logistics or care sectors preferred).
• Strong customer service focus with empathy for clients and families.
• Discretion and sensitivity when handling sensitive situations and information.
• Ability to make timely, considered decisions under pressure.
• Full UK manual driving licence is required.
• Ability to lift and move heavy loads as part of duties.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate ceremonial crew, a part-time team, for funeral day operations.
• Deputise for the care logistics manager as needed.
• Plan clothing collection, movement of personal belongings, and transport of the deceased for viewings.
• Gather and analyse insights to drive continuous improvements in funeral delivery and team performance.
• Maintain understanding of local environment and stakeholders (clergy, crematoria, hospitals, care providers) and adapt processes accordingly.
