Job summary

Bupa UK is hiring a Kitchen Assistant for Hatfield Peverel Lodge Care Home in Chelmsford. The role is permanent and part-time (20 hours per week) with shifts from 8.00am to 6.00pm on two days, including alternate weekends. You will support the kitchen team in preparing meals, maintaining hygiene, and assisting with events.

Qualifications

• A passion for food with previous experience working in a kitchen and a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• You will deliver an excellent dining experience and maintain high standards in and around the home.
• You’ll communicate well with the wider kitchen and care home teams.

Responsibilities

• Act as the link between the main kitchen and residents.
• Assist chefs to plate meals and prepare food trolleys; keep prep areas clean and tidy.
• Monitor stock rotation and follow COSHH/HACPP guidelines.
• Assist with catering for events such as summer BBQs and Christmas parties.
