Bupa in Hatfield Peverel Lodge Care Home, Chelmsford, is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join our team. The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, 8:00am to 6:00pm across four days with alternate weekends, and offers a salary of £12.80–£13.80 per hour depending on experience.

You will support the kitchen, help plate meals, assist with food trolleys, and ensure prep areas stay clean. You will monitor stock turnover, follow COSHH and HACCP guidelines, and contribute to special events like summer

Qualifications

• A passion for food with previous experience working in a kitchen and a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• You want to deliver an excellent service at each meal and make our residents feel at home.
• You’ll understand the importance of maintaining high standards in and around the home, ensuring our residents enjoy a pleasant dining experience.

Responsibilities

• Acting as the link between the main kitchen and our residents.
• Assisting the chefs to plate meals, prepare food trolleys and ensure all preparation areas are kept clean and tidy.
• Monitoring stock rotation, complying to company policies and procedures following all mandatory COSHH and HACCP guidelines.
• Assisting with catering for special events such as summer BBQs and Christmas parties.
