Job summary

Bupa’s Hatfield Peverel Lodge Care Home is hiring a Kitchen Assistant for 20 hours per week, 8.00am–6.00pm across 2 days plus alternate weekends. Fixed-term contract is permanent part-time at competitive hourly pay.

You will support the kitchen team to deliver nourishing meals in a dementia-friendly environment. Join a warm care home where residents’ dining experiences matter and where you can contribute to a varied activities programme and high standards of service.

Qualifications

• A passion for food with experience working in a kitchen.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is required or desirable.

Responsibilities

• Act as the link between the main kitchen and residents.
• Assist chefs to plate meals and prepare food trolleys; keep prep areas clean.
• Monitor stock rotation and follow COSHH/HACCPP guidelines.
• Assist with catering for events such as summer BBQs and Christmas parties.
