Job summary

Bupa UK is seeking a Kitchen Assistant at Hatfield Peverel Lodge Care Home near Chelmsford. You will work 40 hours a week, 8:00am to 6:00pm, four days with alternate weekends, supporting our kitchen team to deliver nutritious meals for residents.

You’ll assist chefs with plating, keep areas clean, monitor stock, and be part of a team that creates welcoming dining experiences. A Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and kitchen experience help you thrive in this role.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen experience in a care or food service setting.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Commitment to delivering high-quality meals.
• Strong communication with residents and team.

Responsibilities

• Assist chefs to plate meals and prepare food trolleys.
• Keep preparation and dining areas clean and tidy.
• Support with stock rotation and comply with COSHH and HACCP guidelines.
• Help cater for events and special occasions.
