Job summary

South Coast Nursing Homes is seeking a Home Training Assistant to embed training across our 9 Sussex homes. You will run inductions, support onboarding, and ensure staff achieve Care Certificate requirements through structured observation and feedback.

The role involves some evenings and weekends and travel between homes, with a focus on developing others and maintaining high training standards. Salary up to £30,000–£33,000, plus DBS, pension and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of the care sector.
• Passionate about improving others' skills and driving training improvements.
• Excellent communication, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Assist in onboarding new starters to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Carry out induction plans and six weeks of observed practice with feedback.
• Complete a 12-week professional discussion for the Care Certificate.
• Support staff with performance issues and create action plans with the home manager.
• Observe homes and staff for additional training needs.
• Assess and document competency for new and existing staff, including medication.
