Job summary

South Coast Nursing Homes is seeking a Care Home Trainer to embed training across our 9 Sussex homes and raise care standards. The role requires travel between sites and some evenings/weekends. You will support onboarding, run inductions, complete Care Certificate discussions, and develop staff through targeted training.

NVQ 3-5 in Health and Social Care and strong communication are essential. We offer competitive salary (£30,000–£33,000), pension, DBS, enhanced training, and progression

Qualifications

• NVQ 3-5 in Health and Social Care.
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
• Passionate about improving others' skills with training.
• Flexible to changing business needs.
• Experience in care training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support onboarding of new starters to ensure the best patient care.
• Carry out induction plans and complete 6 weeks of observed practice, provide useful and effective objectives and feedback.
• Complete 12-week professional discussion for the Care Certificate.
• Support employees with performance issues and devise action plans in conjunction with the home manager.
• Observe homes and employees working practices for any additional training needs they may have.
• Assess and complete competency with new and existing staff, including medication.
• Keep up to date records.
