Job summary

Shaftesbury is seeking a Registered Manager to lead and oversee a care home in Gateshead, ensuring the highest standards of safe, person-centred care for adults.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, monitor regulatory compliance, manage budgets, and drive service improvements while promoting dignity, independence and wellbeing. This on-site role requires active safeguarding and governance oversight. Experience in social care leadership and QA audits is desirable.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership of a care or housing service.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks and governance.
• Experience in budget monitoring and service improvement.
• Ability to coach and mentor staff.
• Excellent communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall management and operation of the care home.
• Ensure compliance with legislation and Shaftesbury policies.
• Oversee self-assessment audits and governance calendar.
• Monitor quality of records and KPIs.
• Act as Local Safeguarding Lead.
• Manage rotas and budgets; align care delivery with contracts.
• Develop annual service improvement plan.
• Represent the service in local networks.
• Provide supervision and mentoring to Service Delivery Leaders.
