Job summary

Gibraltar Nursing Home in the community is seeking a Maintenance Person to ensure a safe, comfortable environment for residents and staff. You’ll carry out day-to-day repairs, update safety logs, and support with monthly audits.

This 40-hour, Monday–Friday role includes on-call emergencies and a 1-in-3 weekend rotation; you’ll work with a small team, tackle plumbing, electrical, roofing and tiling tasks, and take pride in a well-presented home.

Qualifications

• Maintenance knowledge and practical repair skills.
• Ability to perform routine checks and maintain safety standards.
• Good teamwork and cooperative approach with staff and residents.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and well-presented home for residents and staff.
• Keep maintenance books up to date with monthly audit checks and fire alarm/testing routines.
• Carry out day-to-day repairs and respond to maintenance requests.
• Handle emergency call-outs as needed and participate in weekend rotation (1 in 3).
