Job summary

Springcare Care Homes Ltd is seeking a skilled Maintenance Person to join our team. You will help maintain a safe, well‑kept home for our residents, carrying out a variety of everyday maintenance tasks and responding to ad hoc needs.

A successful candidate will have joinery, plumbing and painting skills, familiarity with health and safety regulations, and a full driving licence. We offer permanent day contracts, training and supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar environment/role.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and compliance.
• Physically fit and able to lift lighter items safely.
• Able to use handheld tools safely and follow training.
• Willingness to attend relevant training to develop skills.
• Hold a full driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Preventative maintenance and general building repair (locks, doors, fittings).
• Carry out routine checks on equipment and services (fire alarms, extinguishers, fire doors).
• Minor plumbing and carpentry tasks.
• Painting and decorating.
• Keep exterior areas clean and trip hazards removed.
• Change light bulbs and manage stock of bulbs, batteries, etc.
• Before weekends/bank holidays, check lights, equipment, heating and batteries.
• Provide meter readings for utilities and boilers.
