Interaction Recruitment Group is seeking a reliable Kitchen Assistant for an ongoing temporary role in a care home in Reigate, Surrey. You will support meal provision and dining services, maintaining high hygiene standards and resident care.

Ideal candidates have kitchen or catering experience, good food hygiene knowledge, and a friendly, patient manner. Enhanced DBS via Update Service is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a kitchen, catering or food service environment.
• Good awareness of food hygiene and safe working practices.
• Reliable and flexible approach to work.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Friendly and patient manner when interacting with residents.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment.
• Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the DBS Update Service is essential.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation and presentation of meals and refreshments.
• Supporting the kitchen team during breakfast, lunch and evening meal services.
• Preparing dining areas and ensuring residents receive meals in a timely manner.
• Washing and cleaning crockery, utensils and kitchen equipment.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in kitchen and dining areas.
• Following food hygiene, health and safety procedures at all times.
• Assisting with stock rotation and putting away deliveries as required.
• Helping keep the kitchen organised and running efficiently.
• Providing friendly and respectful service to residents.
• Working closely with care and kitchen colleagues to meet residents' needs.
