Job summary

Avon Search is recruiting a Care Home Chef for a 30-bed residential home in Churston, Brixham, Devon. The role covers 40 hours per week across 4 days, with 8am–6pm shifts, delivering nutritious, appetising meals while meeting IDDSI and SFBB standards.

You will plan menus, cater to dietary requirements, maintain high hygiene standards and work as part of a friendly care team to support residents’ health, wellbeing and enjoyment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a Chef, ideally within a care home, healthcare or similar setting.
• Good knowledge of IDDSI and SFBB procedures.
• Strong food hygiene and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook nutritious, varied and appetising meals for residents.
• Plan meals in line with dietary requirements and preferences.
• Cater for special diets, allergies and intolerances.
• Follow SFBB procedures and maintain safe food handling records.
• Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene and safety.
• Work closely with care staff to understand residents’ dietary needs.
