Job summary

Moat House Care Home is seeking a dedicated Care Assistant to provide person‑centred support for residents. You will help with personal care, mobility, nutrition and daily living, following individual care plans and safeguarding procedures.

The role involves monitoring wellbeing, keeping careful records, and supporting residents in activities and outings. Training and progression opportunities are available within a supportive team, with weekends on a rotation basis.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with personal care, mobility, nutrition and daily living.

  • Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment and follow safety procedures.

Job description

Care Assistant Contract
  • £12.85 per hour
  • Twilight shift 4pm-9pm
  • Paid DBS, pension and uniform provided
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full-time contract)
  • Ongoing training, development and career progression within a supportive and rewarding care environment.
Role Overview

As Care Assistant, you will make a meaningful difference in residents' lives by delivering high-quality, person-centred care that promotes dignity, independence, choice and wellbeing.

You will support residents with personal care, mobility, nutrition, hydration and daily living, while following individual care plans and responding sensitively to their physical, emotional and social needs. You will monitor residents' wellbeing, promptly report any changes in condition and maintain accurate care records to support safe, consistent care.

Working as part of a supportive team, you will encourage residents to participate in activities, assist with meals, accompany them on appointments and outings where required, and help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment. You will follow Health & Safety, infection prevention and safeguarding procedures, ensuring residents remain at the heart of everything you do.
The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends.

What We Are Looking For
  • A caring, compassionate and respectful approach with a genuine passion for supporting older people.
  • Good communication, literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to work calmly in a busy environment and as part of a supportive team.
  • A reliable, positive and professional attitude with a commitment to delivering person-centred care.
  • Understanding of dignity, independence, equality and maintaining residents' confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety, infection prevention and safe working practices.
  • Previous care or care home experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care is desirable, or a willingness to work towards this qualification. The Care Certificate must be completed within the first three months if not already achieved.
