Job summary

Harrier House Care Home in Hucknall, Nottinghamshire, is seeking a dedicated Care Assistant to deliver person-centred care, supporting residents with daily living while respecting dignity and independence. The role covers personal care, mobility, nutrition, hydration, and accurate care records, with shifts including night 7pm-7am (33h/44h contracts) and day 7am-7pm (37.5h).

Must be prepared to work alternate weekends; training offered; DBS, pension and uniform provided; 5.6 weeks annual leave.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care is desirable.
• Care Certificate must be completed within three months if not already achieved.
• Previous care or care home experience is desirable but not essential; training provided.
• Strong communication and literacy skills are important.

Job description

Harrier House Care Home is a modern residential, dementia, respite and day care home in Hucknall, Nottinghamshire. Home to six beautifully designed care suites and outstanding lifestyle facilities, we provide a supportive environment where residents can enjoy meaningful experiences every day.

Care Assistant Contract

• £12.85 per hour
• Full time hours available
• Paid DBS, pension and uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full-time contract)

Role Overview

As Care Assistant, you will make a meaningful difference in residents' lives by delivering high-quality, person-centred care that promotes dignity, independence, choice and wellbeing.

You will support residents with personal care, mobility, nutrition, hydration and daily living, while following individual care plans and responding sensitively to their physical, emotional and social needs. You will monitor residents' wellbeing, promptly report any changes in condition and maintain accurate care records to support safe, consistent care.

Working as part of a supportive team, you will encourage residents to participate in activities, assist with meals, accompany them on appointments and outings where required, and help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment. You will follow Health & Safety, infection prevention and safeguarding procedures, ensuring residents remain at the heart of everything you do.

Night shift - 7pm-7am 33hr & 44hr contracts, Day shift 7am-7pm 37.5hrs contracts.

The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends.
