Job summary

Harrier House Care Home, part of Care Concern Group, is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant in Hucknall, Nottinghamshire. The role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment, including laundry support and adherence to infection control practices.

You will work 16.5 hours weekly with shifts from 8am-2pm or 11am-6pm and alternate weekends. Salary is £12.71 per hour, with DBS paid, pension, uniform provided, and 5.6 weeks of annual leave based on a full-time contract.

Responsibilities

• Clean residents' rooms, bathrooms and communal areas to a high standard of hygiene and presentation.
• Support laundry duties: washing, drying, ironing and returning clothing, ensuring items are labelled and cared for.
• Follow infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures to carry out tasks safely.
• Alternate weekends and shifts 8am-2pm and 11am-6pm.

Housekeeping Assistant Contract

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 16.5 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Housekeeping Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment while also supporting laundry services. This is a varied, hands on role where your attention to detail and high standards will directly impact comfort, dignity and daily wellbeing.

You will be responsible for cleaning residents’ rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, ensuring all spaces are maintained to a high standard of hygiene and presentation. Alongside this, you will support laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing and returning clothing correctly, ensuring all items are clearly labelled and handled with care.

Working closely with the wider team, you will follow infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures, ensuring all tasks are carried out safely and efficiently. Your role will contribute to a well organised and comfortable environment where individuals feel respected and supported.

The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends, and the shift are 8am-2pm and 11am-6pm.
