Job summary

Harrier House Care Home in Hucknall, Nottinghamshire, is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment and to support laundry services. The role is varied and hands-on, with duties ranging from room and bathroom cleaning to laundry, ensuring high standards of hygiene and presentation for residents.

Responsibilities

• Clean residents' rooms, bathrooms and communal areas to high hygiene standards.
• Support laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing and returning clothing.
• Follow infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures.
• Contribute to a well organised and comfortable environment for residents.
• Work alternate weekends with shifts 8am-2pm and 11am-6pm.

Job description

Harrier House Care Home is a modern residential, dementia, respite and day care home in Hucknall, Nottinghamshire. Home to six beautifully designed care suites and outstanding lifestyle facilities, we provide a supportive environment where residents can enjoy meaningful experiences every day.

Housekeeping Assistant Contract

• £12.85 per hour
• Contracted to 16.5 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Housekeeping Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment while also supporting laundry services. This is a varied, hands on role where your attention to detail and high standards will directly impact comfort, dignity and daily wellbeing.

You will be responsible for cleaning residents’ rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, ensuring all spaces are maintained to a high standard of hygiene and presentation. Alongside this, you will support laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing and returning clothing correctly, ensuring all items are clearly labelled and handled with care.

Working closely with the wider team, you will follow infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures, ensuring all tasks are carried out safely and efficiently. Your role will contribute to a well organised and comfortable environment where individuals feel respected and supported.

The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends, and the shift are 8am-2pm and 11am-6pm.
