Job summary

Agincare Beeston, Nottingham, is hiring a Care Assistant to support individuals with learning disabilities, autism, mental health and complex needs. You will provide person-centred care and help people live fulfilling, independent lives within the community.

You will contribute to planning meals, daily routines and social activities while maintaining dignity and choice for service users. Agincare offers funded training, a pension scheme and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 12 months on your right to work.
  • Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, mental health and complex needs.

Responsibilities

  • Encouraging people to play active roles in the communities they live in, to encourage independence.
  • Assisting with activities of daily living including social activities, personal care, routines, meal planning and budgeting.
  • Communicating effectively using people’s chosen methods.
  • Engaging with individuals to enhance their quality of life.
  • Specialising in positive behavioural support approaches when needed.
  • Recording and reporting changes in health or circumstances of service users to management.
  • Working as part of a team and using your own initiative.

As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in enabling individuals to live fulfilling and independent lives . You will provide person-centred support tailored to each individual 's unique needs, helping them achieve their goals and maintain their wellbeing .

As part of your day to day work you will be offering the following;

Encouraging– people to play active roles in the communities in which they live, to encourage independence.

Supporting – Activities of daily Living including social activities, personal care, routines, planning and preparation of meals and budgeting.

Engaging- promoting and motivating people we support to enhance their quality of life

Specialising - supporting people who may need positive behavioural support approaches

Recording- keeping accurate records &reporting changes in health or circumstances of service users to management

Team player – Working as part of a team, as well as being able to work using your own initiative.
