Job summary

Care by Us is hiring Care Assistants to support adults across Hertfordshire. We offer full-time and part-time roles, with shifts across Berkhamsted and surrounding areas. You’ll provide person-centred support, help with daily living, and work as part of a friendly, growing team.

Competitive hourly rates (£14.60–£16.00) plus mileage, 28 days leave, training, pension, and career progression opportunities. No prior experience required, driving licence is preferred.

• No experience required – full training provided.
• Full UK driving licence & access to a vehicle.
• Right to Work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Support daily living activities and promote independence.
• Assist with personal care (washing, dressing, toileting, grooming).
• Support mobility, transfers and aids.
• Provide medication support as per care plans.
• Prepare meals and monitor nutrition.
• Help with household tasks (cleaning, laundry, shopping).
• Offer companionship, reassurance and emotional support.
• Encourage hobbies and community activities.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate with families/professionals.

• Weekdays (Mon–Fri): £14.70 per hour
• Mileage allowance: £0.30p per mile

We run 7 days a week, offering flexible shifts to suit your lifestyle:

• Day Shifts: 07:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Evening Shifts: 3:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Your Role as a Care Assistant

As a Care Assistant, you’ll provide person-centred support to help people live independently and enjoy fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting daily living activities & promoting independence
• Assisting with personal care (washing, dressing, toileting, grooming)
