Care By Us in Bishop's Stortford is seeking a dedicated Care Assistant to join our team at Parkside care setting. You will provide essential daily care in the homes of our clients, following personalised care plans with dignity and respect at the heart of every shift.

We offer varied shifts across days, evenings and sleep-ins, with the chance to develop skills through full training. A supportive, values-driven team environment and opportunities for progression are available.

Responsibilities

• Providing essential care and support in clients' homes according to personalised care plans.
• Helping with personal care (bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming).
• Assisting with medication – preparation and administration.
• Mobility support and safe use of aids/equipment.
• Preparing meals and snacks; offering mealtime support.
• Carrying out light domestic duties (laundry, making beds, light cleaning).
• Offering companionship and building relationships.
• Supporting with companionship, activities and outings.
• Medication management – collecting prescriptions and reminders.
• Nutrition and mealtimes – considering dietary needs.
• Housekeeping – light cleaning, laundry, tidying.
• Mobility assistance – transfers and walking support.
• Health monitoring – observe and report changes.

Pay Rates:

• Mon-Fri: £12.77/hour
• Saturday: £13.02/hour
• Sunday: £13.02/hour

About Us

Parkside consists of 24 self-contained flats for older people. There are five two-bedroom and 19 one-bedroom flats in this sheltered housing scheme. Each flat offers spacious, independent living with wheelchair access. The lounge/dining area of the ground floor flats give onto a garden or decked area, and the first floor flats have a Juliette balcony.

There are communal areas too, including a central dining room and kitchen, hairdressing room, internet room, lounge and gardens. All the flats are linked up to an emergency call system.

A 24-hour staffed service is available with staff on-site from 7.30am - 10pm, plus sleep-in cover on call for emergencies. Our mission is simple: to help people live independently, safely, and with dignity while enjoying fulfilling lives.

Shift Patterns

Our services run 7 days a week, offering flexible shifts to suit your lifestyle:

• Day Shifts: 8:00/9:00 AM - 2:00/3:00 PM
• Evening Shifts: 4:00 PM - 9:00 PM
• Sleep-in/Waking nights Shifts: 9:00 PM - 7:00 AM

What You'll Be Doing

As a Care Professional, you'll provide essential care and support in the homes of our clients, following personalised care plans that put dignity and respect at the heart of everything you do.

You’ll help with:

• Supporting with personal care - bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming
• Assisting with medication - preparation and administration
• Helping with mobility and using aids/equipment safely
• Preparing meals/snacks and offering mealtime support
• Carrying out light domestic duties - laundry, making beds, light cleaning
• Offering companionship and building meaningful relationships
