Job summary

Abbots Care Ltd is seeking dedicated care workers to support service users at home across Watford and surrounding areas. You will visit clients, assist with personal care, monitor wellbeing and follow care plans to enable independent living.

You must have access to your own vehicle and the legal right to work in the UK. Shifts run 7am–2pm and 4pm–10pm with alternate weekends; hourly rates are £13.43 on weekdays and £15.50 on weekends.

Qualifications

• Own transport required to visit service users at home.
• Demonstrated compassion and ability to support independence.
• Good communication with clients, families and healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Visit service users in their homes to provide care and support per the care plan.
• Assist with personal care, monitor vital signs and administer medications where trained.
• Liaise with district nurses, pharmacies and other professionals as needed.

Job description

• Helping people to leave hospital as soon as is practicably possible and to safely transition back to living at home as independently as possible.
• Visiting Service Users in their own homes to provide appropriate care and support as defined in the Care Plan.
• All aspects of personal care, administering medication, monitoring of vital signs, exercise and domestic tasks if needed
• Liaising with medical proffessionals such as district nurses and pharmacies.

This role will be based covering Watford and surrounding areas. The role will include tasks such as

The aim is to rehabilitate and maximise potential, to support and enable Service Users in a range of activities to promote independent living and monitor their well-being. Working hours are between 7am-10pm with shifts patterns of 7am-2pm and 4pm-10pm which are inclusive of alternate weekends. We offer high pay rates of £13.43ph on weekdays and £15.50ph on weekends.
