Job summary

Choices Homecare is seeking Care Assistants to support clients across Huddersfield and Kirklees. The role offers flexible full-time and part-time hours with mileage allowance and career progression. You will provide compassionate in-community care, manage daily living tasks, and contribute to wellbeing and independence for service users.

Typical shifts run 7 days a week, with time-tracked care delivery and mileage reimbursements. A UK driving licence is preferred.

Qualifications

• Care experience welcomed but not essential.
• UK driving licence and access to own vehicle for some routes.
• Availability for alternate weekends.
• Minimum 16 hours per week.
• Role covers 7 days a week 07:00–23:00.

Responsibilities

• Support people with personal care, including washing, dressing and toileting.
• Assist with medication administration and accurate documentation.
• Prepare meals and assist with eating and drinking when needed.
• Encourage independence and support with daily living tasks.
• Build positive relationships with service users and families.
• Support emotional wellbeing and identify changes in behaviour or needs.
• Keep accurate records and communicate clearly with colleagues and supervisors.
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable home environment.
• Respect confidentiality and maintain professional boundaries.

Rate of Pay: £13.82per hour

What to expect in this role

• Care is delivered 7 days a week between 07:00 and 23:00
• We ask for a minimum of 16 hours per week
• Every other weekend availability is required
• This role is paid for care delivery time, with mileage reimbursed between calls at 30p per mile
