Job summary

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 5 Staff Nurse for the Cardiac Day Case Unit at Blackpool Victoria Hospital. The role is part-time, Monday to Friday, with hours from 7:30am to 21:00pm, requiring effective communication across multidisciplinary teams and strong clinical skills.

The post includes responsibilities for preparation and recovery post-procedures, maintaining accurate records, and ongoing professional development in line with NMC standards.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (1st Level) and professional registration with NMC.
Diploma or equivalent nursing qualification.
Teaching & Assessing qualification completed or in progress as per NMC guidelines.
Degree or working towards preferred.
Leadership course beneficial.
ALS training or accreditation advantageous.

Responsibilities

Provide high quality, timely care to patients in the Cardiac Day Case Unit.
Communicate effectively with a wide range of healthcare professionals.
Prepare patients for procedures and support recovery with discharge advice.
Undertake clinical skills such as venepuncture and cannulation; assist with Angio/PCI procedures as trained.
