Job Overview

Harrogate District NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting for two new Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner roles, one in malignant haematology services and the other in non-malignant haematology services. These roles will work alongside the established Clinical Haematology team, which includes five Consultant Haematologists and four Clinical Nurse Specialists within a District General Hospital. The team maintains strong links with the tertiary centre in Leeds to ensure the best treatment and care for patients.

The positions are suitable for trainee ACPs with a specific interest in Haematology. Starting at Band 6, there is a progression to Band 7 after 18 months and Band 8a after three years. These are full-time roles, working Monday to Friday.

Main Duties
  • Provide expert advanced clinical practice, nursing leadership, and collaborative working.
  • Engage in service improvement and education for staff and patients across inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Practise autonomously as an advanced nurse practitioner within haematology, including independent assessment, clinical examination, decision-making, and planning of care and treatment, including independent prescribing.
  • Offer inpatient advice and support to medical teams and ward staff for patients with haematological conditions.
  • Develop strong professional relationships to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary team members and contribute to the operational and strategic development of the haematology service.
  • Provide professional leadership for the Clinical Nurse Specialist team.
  • Deliver education and learning strategies tailored to healthcare professionals involved in care for patients with haematological malignancies.
