Location: Remote (UK and Europe)

Reports to: Head of Finance

About the Role:

This is an exciting, hands-on role in a fast-paced and evolving environment. As a Fund Accountant, you will report directly to the Head of Finance and be integral to the day-to-day operations of fund and corporate accounting. You will be responsible for overseeing regulatory compliance, operational support, and a range of project-based initiatives. The position involves close collaboration with service providers, auditors, legal counsel, and internal stakeholders primarily across the UK and Europe.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the month-end close process, reviewing Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations prepared by third-party fund administrators.
• Collaborate with fund administrators to ensure accurate and timely NAV delivery, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Assist with the year-end audit process and coordinate with external auditors for financial reporting.

Corporate Accounting

• Manage the day-to-day accounting operations for the management company.
• Review invoices and coordinate payments in collaboration with third-party accountants.

Operational & Legal Support

• Provide operational support and manage vendor relationships effectively.
• Work alongside external legal counsel on corporate and fund-related matters.

Regulatory Compliance & Reporting

• Maintain compliance with applicable global financial regulations and standards.
• Assist in preparing and submitting regulatory filings across various jurisdictions.
• Support the Head of Finance in managing internal controls and compliance documentation.

Investor Support

• Assist with ad-hoc investor queries and provide timely responses to investor information requests.

Project-Based Support

• Contribute to process improvements, system enhancements, and the optimization of fund operations to streamline workflows and increase efficiency.

Candidate Profile:

• Educational Background: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• Qualifications: Preference for candidates pursuing or holding a professional qualification (CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent).
• Experience: 1–3 years of relevant experience in fund accounting, fund administration, or investment banking.
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards. Familiarity with US GAAP is a plus.
• Industry Knowledge: Exposure to fund structures advantageous but not essential.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Excel; knowledge of other accounting software is a bonus.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently in a fully remote setting.
