Job summary

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a part-time Suspected Cancer Pathway Navigator for a 1-year fixed term contract in the Radiology Department at the Churchill Hospital, Headington, Oxford. You will coordinate the SCAN pathway, support patients through diagnostic steps and work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure timely investigations.

The role requires post-graduate NHS experience and excellent communication, with duties including data collection, patient liaison

• Registered healthcare professional required.

Responsibilities

• Provide a constant point of contact, advice, support and information for patients referred to the SCAN pathway, from referral to diagnosis or at the point they are assigned a Cancer Nurse Specialist.
• Liaise with referring GP’s to collect data required for the project.
• Cannulate patients and take blood samples prior to their CT scan.
• Ensure samples are sent to the laboratory for testing.
• Collect survey information from patients throughout the pathway.
• Coordinate patient appointments with Multi Diagnostic Clinic teams.
