Job summary

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a registered healthcare professional to work as a SCAN Navigator in the Radiology Department at Churchill Hospital for a 1-year fixed-term contract.

You will coordinate the SCAN pathway, support patients through diagnostic processes, and work within a multi-disciplinary team. Post-graduate NHS experience and advanced communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Post-graduate NHS experience and advanced communication skills.
• Patient assessment and history taking.
• Experience within NHS imaging/diagnostic pathways.
• Registration with UK professional body is required.
• Evidence of safe clinical practice and venepuncture/cannulation.

Responsibilities

• Provide a constant point of contact for SCAN pathway patients from referral to diagnosis.
• Liaise with referring GPs to collect data for the project.
• Cannulate patients and obtain blood samples prior to CT scans.
• Ensure samples are sent to the laboratory for testing.
• Coordinate patient appointments and review with MDC teams.
• Advise referrers on appropriate radiological investigations.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and provide supportive care.
