Job summary

The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting Cancer Care Navigators to guide newly diagnosed patients through holistic needs assessments and signpost to relevant services. The role involves direct patient contact, information provision, and collaboration with NHS teams and local charities to support self-management and care navigation.

The post requires empathy, confidentiality and strong communication skills, with rotation through information and support

Qualifications

• Ability to deal with complex and difficult emotional situations
• Awareness of the health and social care environment
• Good IT skills across NHS IT systems
• Effective organisational skills
• Strong communication skills

Responsibilities

• Directly communicate with patients, relatives and carers daily (telephone and face-to-face)
• Operate information pods and drop-in advice points
• Support outreach services in the community and health & wellbeing events
• Visit patients in clinical areas to provide information and signpost to services
• Maintain empathy, confidentiality and integrity in all communications
