Job summary

The University of Bath is seeking a Helpdesk Assistant (Student Support) to join the Student Support Centre on campus. This part-time, 0.8 FTE role involves welcoming students and providing in-person helpdesk services along with administrative support for specialist teams.

You will handle basic enquiries with empathy, use IT and MS Office to support tasks, and maintain confidentiality while working across teams to ensure a smooth student experience.

Qualifications

• Five GCSEs at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).
• Confident using IT systems and Microsoft Office to support daily tasks.
• Ability to listen, understand needs and provide clear information and signposting.
• Handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for students at the Helpdesk.
• Provide in-person service and administrative support for specialist teams.
• Interact with students and parents in distress.
