Job summary

CJS Recruitment Limited is seeking a reliable Facilities Technician to join a Further Education campus in Harrow on a long-term temporary contract. The role focuses on hands-on maintenance to keep buildings, facilities and equipment safe and well‑run.

You will perform routine checks, handle repairs, and assist with planned and reactive maintenance, including basic plumbing and electrical tasks within your competence. DBS may be required, and a proactive, independent working style is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in facilities maintenance or building maintenance.
• Practical skills across general repairs and building maintenance.
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Able to work independently and manage competing tasks.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general building maintenance, repairs and routine checks.
• Identify and report maintenance issues to keep the environment safe.
• Support planned and reactive maintenance across the site.
• Assist with basic plumbing, electrical and other building tasks within competence.
• Respond to maintenance requests and prioritise tasks.
• Coordinate with external contractors and site staff as needed.
• Follow health and safety procedures and maintain records of work.
