CJS Recruitment Limited is seeking a reliable Facilities Technician to join a Further Education campus in Harrow on a long-term temporary contract. The role focuses on hands-on maintenance to keep buildings, facilities and equipment safe and well‑run.

You will perform routine checks, handle repairs, and assist with planned and reactive maintenance, including basic plumbing and electrical tasks within your competence. DBS may be required, and a proactive, independent working style is essential.

• Good understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Able to work independently and manage competing tasks.

CJS Recruitment is currently looking for a reliable and experienced Facilities Technician to join a Further Education setting in Harrow on a long-term temporary contract.

This is a great opportunity for someone with hands-on facilities maintenance experience who can help ensure the campus buildings, facilities and equipment are safe, well maintained and operating effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out general building maintenance, repairs and routine facilities checks.
• Identify and report maintenance issues, helping ensure a safe and functional environment.
• Support planned and reactive maintenance across the site.
• Assist with basic plumbing, electrical and other building maintenance tasks within your area of competence.
• Respond to maintenance requests and prioritise tasks appropriately.
• Work with external contractors and other site staff when required.
• Follow health and safety procedures and maintain accurate records of work completed.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance or a similar technician role.
• Practical skills across general repairs and building maintenance.
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Able to work independently, manage competing tasks and respond to maintenance issues.
• Professional, reliable and proactive approach.
• Relevant trade qualifications would be advantageous.
• Enhanced DBS, or willingness to obtain one, as required for the role.
