Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a proactive Site Assistant to support a busy premises team at a Bromley secondary academy. You will assist with daily site security, caretaking, reactive maintenance, porterage, and health and safety checks to keep pupils and staff safe and comfortable.

Reporting to the Premises Manager on a campus with multiple blocks and sports facilities, you will perform basic DIY tasks, help with event setup, maintain emergency routes, and support grounds maintenance and

Qualifications

• Practical trade knowledge or general maintenance background.
• CosHH, Manual Handling or First Aid certifications desirable.
• Experience in caretaking or facilities support preferred.

Responsibilities

• Site Security & Access: assist with opening/closing, lock gates, set alarms, patrol campus.
• Maintenance & Minor Repairs: basic fixes, unblock sinks, replace fittings, minor carpentry.
• Porterage & Event Setup: move deliveries, distribute supplies, arrange furniture for events.
• Health & Safety Compliance: routine logging, weekly fire alarm tests, emergency lighting checks.
• Grounds & Caretaking Support: waste management, litter removal, seasonal tasks like gritting.
