Job summary

City of Portsmouth College in Portsmouth is seeking a Bank Caretaker to support daily campus operations across sites, ensuring a warm, clean, safe and secure environment for students, staff and visitors.

You will carry out campus maintenance and repairs, assist the Site Supervisor, and cover another campus when required. A valid UK driving licence and good Maths/English are essential.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is required.
• Evidence of commitment to professional development.
• A good standard of Maths and English.
• Good organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• To ensure that all work undertaken is carried out in accordance with all College Health & Safety requirements.
• To carry out unlocking, locking and security checks, keeping keys and records of keys issued in accordance with the college safe working procedure.
• To carry out repairs and decoration to an acceptable standard.
• Detect and report building defects to the caretaker supervisor and/or head of facilities.
• The routine testing and recording requirements of emergency lights, fire alarms, ladders and steps, working at height systems, water services, fire doors, emergency exits and any other compliance-based checks.
• To assist the security warden if required, to ensure the security of the building and occupants.
