Job summary

GSL Education Hull Branch is recruiting a resilient, proactive Behaviour Teaching Assistant to work in a school in Market Weighton, East Riding of Yorkshire. You will support pupils with behavioural, emotional, or social difficulties, helping them engage with learning and develop essential skills.

The role is full-time in Market Weighton. Salary is £92-£115 per day depending on experience, and you must have an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply; start date is ASAP.

• Experience supporting children or young people with behavioural or emotional needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils experiencing behavioural or emotional difficulties.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils while maintaining clear and consistent boundaries.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation, confidence, resilience, and positive social interaction.
• Promote positive behaviour through calm, consistent, and restorative approaches.
• Help pupils engage with classroom activities and overcome barriers to learning.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and wider pastoral staff to monitor behaviour and support individual progress.
