Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children or young people in educational, care, youth or similar settings.
• Calm, patient, and resilient approach when working with challenging behaviour or complex situations.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Confidence in maintaining appropriate boundaries while building positive relationships with pupils.
• Ability to remain consistent and composed when supporting pupils with emotional or behavioural challenges.
• Genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers and achieve positive outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to help pupils access learning and remain engaged.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and encourage confidence, resilience, and independence.
• Support pupils who may experience emotional, social, or behavioural difficulties that affect their learning.
• Promote positive behaviour through calm, consistent, and supportive approaches.
• Help create a safe, structured, and inclusive environment where pupils feel supported and able to learn.
• Work closely with teachers and wider staff to monitor pupil progress and adapt support to individual needs.
