Job summary

GSL Education Hull Branch is recruiting a resilient Teaching Assistant to work in Market Weighton. You will provide tailored support to pupils in and outside the classroom, helping them access learning and manage challenges.

Ideal candidates will have experience with children or young people, a calm and patient manner, and strong communication. The role is full-time and on-site, starting as soon as possible, with DBS clearance process noted.

• Experience supporting children or young people in educational, care, youth, or similar settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to help pupils access learning.
• Build positive, trusting relationships and encourage confidence.
• Support pupils with emotional, social, or behavioural needs.
• Promote positive behaviour through calm, consistent approaches.
• Create a safe, structured, inclusive environment.
• Monitor pupil progress and adapt support to individual needs.
