Job summary

Tesco Cafés is seeking a Team Leader to join one of our busy cafés, offering a friendly, fast-paced environment where you’ll help keep daily operations running smoothly while delivering outstanding service.

You’ll support the Manager, coach and train team members, open and close shifts, and contribute to business goals. Tesco provides flexible working options, a supportive culture, and clear paths for progression.

Qualifications

• Background in hospitality with Team/Shift Leader experience.
• Passion for providing excellent customer service.
• Health & Safety knowledge and Food Safety knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Maintain operational and safety standards to ensure smooth running.
• Ensure food safety and hygiene regulations are met.
• Lead by example by delivering excellent customer service.
• Open and close the café and oversee operations in the Manager’s absence.
• Recognise and celebrate team members for excellent service.
• Learn the menu inside out and help the team do the same.
• Boost sales by ensuring correct staffing and deployment.
• Deliver Health & Safety and Food Safety training for team members.
• Support the Café Manager with coaching and development.
• Identify ways to continually improve service for customers.
• Promote an inclusive environment where colleagues feel valued.
