About the role

We're looking for a Team Leader to join one of our Cafés, where a friendly, fast-paced environment awaits. With a passion for providing excellent customer service, a proactive can-do attitude, and great collaboration skills, you'll help keep everyday operations running smoothly.

You'll get to develop your skills with a wide range of responsibilities, from supporting the Manager to meeting business and financial goals, to coaching, developing, and training team members, and leading by example with impeccable customer service.

Responsibilities

Although specific responsibilities will depend on Tesco's changing needs, key responsibilities include:

  1. Ensuring smooth operations by maintaining standards and safety.
  2. Meeting food safety and hygiene regulations.
  3. Leading by example with excellent customer experiences.
  4. Opening and closing the café and overseeing operations in the Manager's absence.
  5. Recognising and celebrating team members for excellent service.
  6. Learning our menu and helping the team do the same.
  7. Boosting sales by effective staffing and service delivery.
  8. Delivering health & safety and food safety training.
  9. Supporting the Café Manager with coaching and development.
  10. Seeking continuous improvements in customer service.
  11. Promoting an inclusive environment where colleagues feel respected and valued.
Requirements

You will need:

  • Experience in hospitality, with Team/Shift Leader roles.
  • A passion for excellent customer service.
  • Knowledge of health & safety and food safety.

Personal skills include effective communication, multitasking, adaptability, and initiative.
