Restaurant Associates, part of Compass Group UK&I, is seeking a proactive Café Supervisor for the National Railway Museum in York. You will lead a café team, train staff, and support the Café Manager to deliver outstanding visitor experiences during service periods.

The role offers a hands-on leadership position in a high-volume environment with opportunities for career progression within hospitality management.

Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent,5 over 7 days

We’re looking for a proactive and motivatedCafé Supervisorto support the day-to‑day operations of the caféat the National Railway Museum in York. This is a hands‑on role where you willwork alongside your team to deliver excellent service, maintain high‑qualitystandards, and ensure the café operates smoothly during service periods. AsCafé Supervisor, you will support the Café Manager in leading the team,training staff, and providing outstanding visitor experiences.

In this role, you will actively supervise caféoperations, ensuring that team members deliver excellent service, maintain foodquality, and follow all operational and health & safety procedures. Youwill lead by example, working alongside your team during service periods, andsupporting the Café Manager in delivering a profitable and compliant operation.

• Flexible, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast‑paced, visitor‑focused environment.
• Basic financial awareness and understanding of operational targets.
• Knowledge of health & safety and food safety standards.

Desirable:

• Experience in contract catering or managing high-volume visitor‑led operations.
